Reading, was erected in 1833, and is a castellated bu ild ­
ing of red b rick w ith w hite stone dressings, b u ilt for

three divisions.
No. 1.— T h e N orthern or Abingdon division com prises
the sessional divisions of A bingdon, Faringdon, W a l­
lingford, and W antage, the m un icipal borough of W a l­
lingford and so m uch of th e m un icipal boroughs of
A bingdon and Oxford 'as are in th e cou n ty of Berks.
No. 2.— The Southern or N ew bury division com prises
the sessional divisions of Ilsley, Lam bourne, N ew bury
(including H ungerford), and R eading (excep t so m uch
as is com prised in division No. 3), th e m unicipal
boroughs of N ew bu ry and Reading and so m uch of the
W okingham sessional division as is in the parliam entary
borough of Reading.
No. 3.— The E astern or W okingham division com ­
prises the sessional divisions of Maidenhead and W in d­
sor, so m uch of the sessional division of W okingham as
is not com prised in division No. 2, the m unicipal
boroughs of Maidenhead and New W indsor and the
parishes of Swallowfields E ast and W est.
B y the above-m entioned A c t th e representation of
the borough of W allingford was m erged in to th at of
the county and the borough of Reading lost one m em ber.
