Queen V ictoria : the chancel, w hich is th e only re ­
m aining p art of the original edifice, supposed to date
from the 12th century, retains a Norm an window and
a piscina of E a rly E nglish date ; the nave, aisles and
tower are modern, the la tter having been erected in
1868 : in th e church is a brass to E ustace M ascall,
“ clerk of the works a t the b u ild in g of C h rist Church,
Oxford, and clerk of accom pts for 17 years for all thè
