Affiliated C olleges.
By a statute of the University, passed in 1880 and
largely amended in 1893, any college or institution
within the United Kingdom, or in any part of the
(British Dominions, being a place of education in which
the majority of the students are of the age of 17 at the
least, may be admitted to the privileges of an affiliated
collegeon the conditions following
j.The college or institution must be incorporated by
Royal Charter or otherwise established on a permanent
and efficientfooting.
2.Itmust allow the University to be represented on its
governing body and to take part in its examinations.
0.It must have been admitted to the privileges of an
affiliated college by vote of Convocation.
* The connection between it and the University must be
terminable at the will of either body.
The conditions on which students of such colleges can
be admitted to matriculation, to the examination of the
University and to its degrees are fully set forth in the
Calendar.
The institutions at present admitted are:â
1880, June 1, St. Davidâs College, Lampeter.
1882, June .15, University College, Nottingham.
1899, Feb. 21, University College, Reading.
1903. June 16, Hartley College, Southampton.
1906, Exeter Diocesan Training College.
1908, May 19, Royal Albert Memorial University ColÂ
lege, Exeter.
