D E N F O R D is a ham let of K in tb u ry c iv il parish, and
in 1S33 was formed into an ecclesiastical parish . I t is
about 2 m iles north-east from H ungerford station on the
G reat W estern railw ay, in the Southern division of the
county, K in tbu ry-E agle hundred, H ungerford p etty ses­
sional division and county court d istrict, H ungerford and
Ram sbury union, N ew bury rural deanery, archdeaconry
of Berks and diocese of Oxford. H oly T rin ity church,
which adjoins Denford House, was erected and endowed
by the late G. C. C herry esq. in 1832, and is an edifice
of stone in the Decorated and P erpendicular styles, con­
sisting of nave, south porch and a rich ly carved and
em b attled eastern tower, w ith pinnacles and spirelets,
containing one b e ll: there are 75 sittin gs. Th e registei
dates from the yea r 1832. Th e livin g is a perpetual

style, and the property of A psley C h erry-G arrard esq.
