D E N F O R D is a ham let of K in tb u ry c iv il parish, and
in 1S33 was formed into an ecclesiastical parish . I t is
about 2 m iles north-east from H ungerford station on the
G reat W estern railw ay, in the Southern division of the
county, K in tbu ry-E agle hundred, H ungerford p etty sesÂ
sional division and county court d istrict, H ungerford and
Ram sbury union, N ew bury rural deanery, archdeaconry
of Berks and diocese of Oxford. H oly T rin ity church,
which adjoins Denford House, was erected and endowed
by the late G. C. C herry esq. in 1832, and is an edifice
of stone in the Decorated and P erpendicular styles, conÂ
sisting of nave, south porch and a rich ly carved and
em b attled eastern tower, w ith pinnacles and spirelets,
containing one b e ll: there are 75 sittin gs. Th e registei
dates from the yea r 1832. Th e livin g is a perpetual

D I D C O T (or D udcote) is a v illag e and parish, w ith a of Didcot, 1641, and her husband, w ith the arm s of

containing 3 bells : th e nave is of th ree bays and has and Fellows of Brasenose College, Oxford, and held since
arcades of wide Pointed E a rly E n g lish arches on low 1890 by the Rev. John Brown M .A. of that college. A
clu stered piers, the cen tral pier, again st which th e font wool fair is held on th e first Tuesday in July. The railw ay
is placed, being octagonal and the other two cylindrical, station , which was p artially destroyed by fire in 1886,

fillets ; the south aisle is Decorated, and has segm en tal station m aster. On the risin g ground south of the
