and the late A rth u r P farvey T h u rsb y esq. D .L ., J .P . o f C u lverlan ds
(d. 1909), nave, tran septs, and an octagon a l w estern to w e r, w ith a
sm all d o m e and con ta in in g 6 bells : th e tow er was restored in 1901 at
the sole cost of E rn est C hance esq. : at th e w est end is a stain ed w in ­
d o w , presen ted b y th e R ev. H en ry C urtis C h erry M .A . re cto r from
1827 ; th e R ev. F . B. B o y d , a form er rector, presen ted th e ch u rch
w ith five stain ed w in d ow s ; a stained w in d ow was also erected b y the
R ev. B en ja m in B ra dn ey B o c k e tt M .A . v ica r o f E psom (1839-83), in
m em ory o f h is b ro th e r and tw o sisters ; and another has been p la ced in
the south tran sept b y th e late A rth u r H a r v e y T h u rsb y esq. D .L ., J .P . in
m em ory o f his fath er and m oth er ; th e east w in d ow , placed in 1892 by
M iss Sophia C h arlotte T h u rsb y , o f B rig h ton , is a m em orial to th e R e v .

and E lea n or M a ry, his w ife ; in the tow er there are twro stone effigies
and one o f oak, "all o f ea rly date ; a floor stone in scrib ed t o the R e v .
Garnans D aunser M .A . 1676, has been fou n d under th e old ch ancel :
there are 608 sittin g s, 402 b e in g free.
A n ew b urial grou n d , a d jo in ­
ing the old ch u rch yard , w as consecrated in 1886. T h e register d ates
from the y e a r 1563. T h e liv in g is a rectory , n et y e a rly va lu e £ 6 0 0 ,
w ith residence and 13 acres o f gleb e, in the g ift o f the E arl o f S h rew s­
bury and T a lb o t, and held since 1911 b y th e R e v . W illia m H e n ry
G eorge M .A . o f S elw yn C ollege, C am bridge.

w hole o f th e b u ild in g, and it w ill n ow seat 200 persons. T h ere are also
