Sindlesham, half a m ile north, is in*
eluded in the ecclesiastical parish of Bear
W ood, and consists of about 60 cottages,
an inn and the school. The place was
almost entirely rebuilt by the late John
Walter esq. (d . 1894), and has a Baptist
chapel.
A halt on the South Eastern and Chat*
ham Railway (R eading and Wokingham
line), known as Sindlesham and Hurst
was opened in January, 1910.

Kennet flow's on the north. The church
of the V irgin Mary, rebuilt at a cost of
