B a p tist, L o w e r C aversham , b u ilt in 1888, at a cost o f £ 5 ,1 8 7 , is an
edifice o f flin t w ith stone d ressings, in th e E a r ly E n g lish sty le, and c o n Â
sists o f chancel, nave, sou th aisle and a w estern tu rret con tain in g one
b e l l : in 1898 a stained w in d o w w as placed at a c o s t o f ov e r £ 3 0 0 : there
are 350 sittin gs. T h ere is also a W e sle y a n ch a p el, erected in 1898,
and a co n v e n t o f the V is ita tio n . T h e p u b lic hall a t E m m er G reen,
b e lo n g in g t o M a rtin Joh n S u tton esq. J .P . o f W a r g r a v e M anor, B erks,
is used fo r lectu res and religiou s services. T h e church o f S t. B arnabas
a t E m m er G reen w as o p en ed fo r p u b lic w o rsh ip in 1899.
