Exhaustive scientific
experiments have
deÂ
monstrated the hygienic advantages of gas as a lighting
medium.
Investigations upon
the bacterial content
of an inhabited room lighted by gas reveal the cremaÂ
tion of organisms by the flames, and the value of the
heat produced as an aid to ventilation.
The air in a
gas-lighted room is maintained in a hygienic condition,
owing to the better ventilation and circulation of the
air caused by the air currents set up by the model ate
degree of heat evolved from the combustion of the gas.

students has been very much affected.â
