Mrs Thomas Silver, 119, Wykeham Road, Reading is the mother of three soldiers, of whom one has lost his life in the war. For seven generatiions her family has been represented iii the Army or Marines. Her grandfather was killed at Waterloo, andher father, the late Mr. ThomasPugh. fought in the Crimean War andt-he Indian Mutiny, whiIe herhusban served in the Afghanstan campaign with the old “66th.”
