Killed in action.
The late Sergt. LEONARD MARTIN
HAWES, Station Hotel, Twyford. Died
of wounds. Aged 25.
The late Tpr. R. N. LOVEGROVE,
Wantage. Killed in action.
The late Lce. Corpl. HAROLD GEO.
JEFFERIES, Windsor (well-known
footballer). Killed in action.
The late Sergt. W. J. H. HORNE,
Charnham Street, Hungerford. Killed
in action. Aged 27.
FOUGHT IN TWO WARS. These Wantage members include (last figure second row) the late
Corpl. HARRY CHISMAN, of Woolley, killed in action, aged 36. He served in the South African war
with the Berks Imperial Yeomanry, and was one of the few who had fought with the regiment in
both campaigns.
