5TH BATTALION. ROYAL BERKSHIRE REGIMENT.
The late Pte.SYDNEY HOGBOURN, Plough Lane,Wokingham. Killed in action.Aged 21.
The late Pte. FRED LAIT, 4, Belridge Terrace, Queen's Road, Newbury.- Killed in action. Aged 28.
He was third best shot in the battalion.
The late Lieut. D.V. TREWARTHA-JAMES.
Killed in action. Aged 26.
In the assault on Hulluch he was most brave.
While leading his company he was wounded in the leg, but continued to lead his men till, wounded again, he fell under the parapet of a German trench.
