ROYAL BERKSHIRE REGIMENT.
[photo, portrait] The late 2nd Lieut. H. J. THORNS, Tettenhall College. - Killed in action. He was a violinist of great promise and a licentiate and an associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
[photo, group, exterior] FIRST DERBY RECRUITS. - These soldiers are Reading men who joined the Royal Berks Regiment when the first groups were called up, and received their first training at Bovington Camp.
[photo, portrait] Second Lieut. B. H. BELCHER, Weyland, Donnington Square, Newbury. - Missing. In an attack the battalion came under heavy machine gun fire and Mr. Belcher fell just after leading his platoon over the parapet.
[photo, portrait] Second Lieut. D. GALE, son of Mr. J. J. Gale, Winterbrook, Wallingford. - Wounded.
[photo, portrait] Corpl. W. J. HAWKINS, Warren Lodge Cottage, Finchampstead. - Wounded. Served in the South African War.
[photo, portrait] The late Second Lieut. FRANCIS GORDON SHIRREFF, Sparsholt, Wantage. - Killed in action. Aged 34.
[photo, portrait] The late Pte. HARRY PARSONS, 14, Carnarvon Road, Reading. - Died of wounds. Aged 23.
[photo, portrait] Coy.-Sergt.-Major E. TWITCHEN, Dalkeith, Reading Road, Henley. - Wounded. Twenty-two years' service, including South African War.
