VARIOUS REGIMENTS
The late Second Lieut. LAWRENCE BOSDET HIBBS, Jersey Company, Royal Irish Rifles, brother of Mr J.K. Hibbs, 23 Radstock Road, Reading. - Died after four days' illness.
The late Pte. JOHN GOODING, Gloucester Regiment, 7 River Road, Reading. - Killed by a sniper while on sentry duty.
The late Lce.-Corpl. H.C. WOODLEY, Army Cyclist Corps (transferred from 1st Batt. Royal Berks Regt.) Manor Road, Goring. - Killed in action. Aged 19.
The late Lieut. ERIC GUY SUTTON, Royal Sussex Regt., second son of Mr Leonard Sutton (Mayor of Reading). Killed in action. Aged 21. He possessed the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry; with another officer he entered a mine, which was in a highly dangerous state at the time owing to gas fumes following an explosion, in order to rescue a man who had been overcome. Their prompt action undoubtedly saved the man's life. ( Photo by Walton Adams).
The late Pte. E. HURST, City of London Regt., son in law of Mr and Mrs H. Goswell, Barkham Road, Wokingham, formerly on the staff of Broadmoor Asylum. - Killed in action.
The late Lce.-Corpl. W. STENNER, Royal Sussex Regt., Binfield Heath. - Killed in action.
