ENTERTAINING THE WOUNDED.

[photo, group, exterior] At Maiden Erlegh parties of wounded soldiers were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Joel. The photograph shows a hero, helpless but happy, and on the left his hostess. [P. 0. Collier.]

[photo, group, exterior] No lady has done her bit more thoroughly during the war than Mrs. Benyon, wife of the Lord Lieutenant. Her influence, her wonderful organising powers and her purse are always at the disposal of her country, and the wounded soldiers have a particularly warm corner in her large heart. The illustration is a snapshot of Mrs. Benyon, outside the Small Town Hall, Reading, taking four wounded men for a drive. [Photo by Walton Adams.]

[photo, group, exterior] Many happy hours have been spent by wounded soldiers on Moss'€™s Island, thanks to the efforts of the members of the Bohemian Club. Cricket, tennis, bowls and golf are among the games played, and that all enjoy themselves is evident by the happy faces of both entertainers and entertained. [Photo by P. O. Collier.]
