[photo, portrait, at piano] CLEVER PIANIST AND ONLY SON. -€” Like thousands of other young fellows, Lce.-Corpl. HUBERT PETTY, Dorset Regt., gave up a promising career in order to serve King and country, and on July 18th he died of apoplexy in the hospital ship Dongola. Aged 20, he was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Petty, Broadley, Blenheim Road, Caversham, and was a member of the Y.M.C.A., his services as pianist being greatly valued. An old Kendrick boy, he was an assistant surveyor at Dorchester and joined up in January, 1916.
