The late Pte. HAROLD GUILLE, Canadian Expeditionary Force ,youngest son of Mr . and Mrs . G . C. Guille ,
28, Castle Crescent, Reading . - Killed in action. Aged 31.
Pte. J . LICKLEY , 16 t h B a t t . Canadian Scottish, son of Chief Police Inspector J. Lickley, Reading. -
Wounded.
Lieut . E. H . LATTER , 5 th Canadians , lat e of Wallingford (a well-known footballer). Wounded . Awarded the Military Cross.
ARTHUR GOODSON , 7th Battalion Canadians, late of Reading. -Wounded.
The lateLce. -Cpl. E. L. SPINDLER , 16 t h Batt . Canadian Force , lat e High Street , Maidenhead . - Died of wounds .
Pte. J. B. SCUTTER, Canadian Mounted Rifles, Jewell's Farm, Stanford Dingley.- Prisoner of war.
BEARWOOD , t h e seat of t he Walter family , has been converted into a convalescent hospital for Canadian soldiers. Built in 1865-9, t he mansion is a stately building and overlooks beautiful gardens and a richly-wooded park containing an ornamental lake.
Lieut . W . L. DYMOND , l at e of Reading, who served in t he Royal Berks Regiment i n t he ranks , and on being
pensioned joinded the Canadian Forces and was promoted lieutenant and instructor. He holds t w o Canadian
records for shooting .
