A POPULAR READING CONCERT PARTY
Snapshot of the "Snapshot" Concert Party

The "Snapshot" Concert Party, belonging to the 30th Batt. Middlesex Regt. whose efforts made £60 for the benefit of St Dunstans at the Palace Theatre, Reading. They were well received at the Hartley Court fete arranged in order to collect more eggs for the wounded. On the extreme right, standing, is Corpl. J. Mordecai who has arranged entertainments for over 20,000 wounded. The ladies are Mrs Dracup and Miss Belcher.

This "lady" happens to be a gentleman - Francis E. Cook A.B. Royal Naval division, who was a patient in the Auxiliary Hospital, Englefield House. He was a star turn at the concerts there. In civil life he is a member of the music hall profession, and his selections on the phono-fiddle and the violin and his short stories are as good as his make-up.
