Peace Sunday, July 6, 1919. The mayor and corporation proceed from the Town Hall to the Official Thanksgiving Service in St. Laurence's Church. The procession is headed by the mace-bearer, the Mayor (Alderman Stanley Hayward), the Deputy Mayor (Councillor Frederick Arthur Sarjeant), the Member of Parliament for Reading (Colonel Leslie Orme Wilson), the Town Clerk (Walter Sweeting Clutterbuck), and the Deputy Town Clerk (Coningsby Samuel Johnson). In Blagrave Street, the billiard room of the Wheatsheaf Hotel can be seen. 1910-1919.
