The opening of Sutherlands Cottage, 27 Northumberland Avenue, Reading, in 1921. It was built to house disabled ex-servicemen, and the first occupant, Pte. F. W. Hill, is by the front door in a wheelchair as Mr. L. G. Sutton unveils a plaque above. 1920-1929: newspaper photograph by C. E. May.
