THE LADDER OF PROMOTION.
Major DENYS EGGINTON, 2/4th
Batt. Royal Berks Regt., a member of
the Reading Town Council, promoted
from quartermaster and hon. captain
to hon. major.
Second Lieut. E. VICTOR EVANS,
Wokingham, promoted from corporal
in the Berks Yeomanry to commission
rank in the 11th Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
Lieut, and Quartermaster F. DAVIS,
Theale, who was a sergeant-major in
the Royal Army Medical Corps and was
raised from the ranks in recognition of
distinguished conduct at the front.
Second Lieut. THOMAS FAWDRY,
North Lancs. Regiment, Abingdon,
given a commission after being a
sergeant in the Royal Flying Corps.
Second Lieut. STEPHEN E. SALE,
Wokingham, granted a commission in
the R.G.A., in which he enlisted as a
gunner five months before.
Second Lieut. W. ALDWORTH, Abingdon,
promoted from Qtr. Mtr. Sergt. in the Royal
Berks to Second Lieut, in Essex Regiment.
Sergt. Major W. WYLES, 22, Charles
Street, Reading, who has secured
promotion to the last rung before
commission rank.
Second Lieut. G. R. GOODSHIP, 8th Batt.
Royal Berks Regt. 150, Southampton St.
Reading, formerly a private in the Berkshire Yeomanry.
Second Lieut. H. P. TATE, hon. secretary
Reading Amateur Regatta, who
served in the Hon. Artillery Company
at the front for ten months and then
received a commission in the 3/4th
Batt. Royal Berkshire Regiment.
Second Lieut. G. E. MAGGS, 8th Batt.
Royal Berkshire Regt. 92, Southampton
Street, Reading, who went to France a
private in the 4th Batt. Royal Berks Regt.
and was recalled to England to take a
commission.
