Their First Sad Duty
D Company of the 8th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment burying a comrade, who like themselves, had joined the new Army but a few weeks before and at the time of his death was billeted in Reading.
Naval Despatch Rider's Funeral
At the funeral in Bracknell of Lionel Rainford, a Naval despatch Rider, who was accidentally killed while motor cycling on manoeuvres, the coffin was borne on an armoured car and eight despatch riders acted as bearers.
