THIRD LINE TERRITORIAL CAMP AT ALDERMASTON.
The members of the third line of the Berkshire Territorial Force were
fortunate in having an ideal training ground during the summer of 1915.
Mr. C. E. Keyser placed at their disposal the ground adjoining Aldermaston
Park which was last year the site of the camp occupied by the poor children of
Reading. Here, amid beautiful rural scenery, the recruits went through a
thorough course of training, and the healthy life soon effected a marked
improvement in their physique. As gaps occurred in the first line, men were
drafted into the second line at Chelmsford or elsewhere.
