[photo,portrait] The late Private FRANK STOKES, 19th Hussars, Finchampstead, Wokingham. Died at sea. Aged 25.
[photo,portrait] Pte. WM. EVANS, 1st Batt. Hereford Regt., Stoke Row Common. - Wounded. A brother has been killed in act i on.

[photo, group, exterior] A LOYAL BERKSHIREMAN IN AFRICA. - Seated on the first camel is Lieut. F. W. Wing, D.C.M., an old Reading boy. Son of a Berks Militia colour- sergeant who served in the Indian Mutiny, he has served in the 5th Lancers, the South African Constabulary, Berks Yeomanry (S.Q.M.S. of B Squadron), Durban Light Infantry and Imperial Light Horse (S.S.M.), fought in the Transvaal (1900) and German S.W. Africa (1915) and now trains cadets in Johannesburg.
