RECOGNITION OF BRAVERY.
[photo, portrait] Pte. FREDK. WM. EXCELL, 2nd Batt. Bedford Regiment, Warfield. - Commended for holding a communication trench, also for bravery in an advance.
[photo, portrait] Sergt. F. BLEAZARD, Royal Field Artillery, Sadler's Lane, Wokingham. - Awarded the D.C.M.
[photo, portrait] Tpr. STANLEY K. PERKINS, 1/1st Berks Yeomanry, 30, Kendrick Road, Reading. - Awarded the D.C.M. for services as stretcher bearer at Hill 70, Gallipoli. For 30 hours he was bringing in the wounded under fire. [Photo by Donna Roma.]

[photo, portrait] Miss EMMA DODD, out-patient sister at the Royal Berks Hospital. - Mentioned in despatches for Red Cross services with the British Expeditionary Force in France.
[photo, portrait] Battery Sergt.-Major D. BIRD, Royal Field Artillery, Sandhurst. - Awarded the D.C.M. for bravery in Gallipoli, where he assumed the most dangerous position in a voluntary gun detachment that was in action under heavy fire for nearly an hour.

BLYDE, 1/1st Berks Yeomanry, 8, College Road, Reading. - Awarded the D.C.M. for services in Gallipoli, where, as a Lce.-Corpl., he killed, single-handed, two Turks who were about to take up their positions as snipers, and by order of the Major-General he was promoted sergeant on the field.
