[photo, portrait] Sub.-Lieut. J. CLIFFORD ATKINSON, Waverley Road, Reading, who on returning from Assam joined the R.N.A.S. as air mechanic, and received a commission in the same service. [Photo by Donna Roma.]
[photo, portrait] Second Lieut. HOWARD L. COATES, Lincolnshire Yeomanry, 1, Blake Lodge , Forbury Road, Reading. A corporal in the 2/1st Berkshire Yeomanry, he received a commission in the Lincolnshire Yeomanry. [Photo by Donna Roma.]

UNIQUE RECORD.
[photos, portrait x3] The three sons of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee, late of Reading, have the distinction of serving together as officers in a regiment (Gordon Highlanders), which they joined as privates. Above are the portraits of the trio - Second Lieuts. Charles, Frederick and Sidney Lee.
[photo, portrait] Lieut. E. T. DEACON, South Wales Borderers, 21, Hatherley Road, Reading. - Promoted Machine Gun Officer of a Battalion.
[photo, portrait] Lieut. PERCY LUCAS, South Stafford Regt., Reading. Joined the Army Ordnance Corps as a private on August 31st, 1914, steadily rose to the rank of sergt-major, received a commission in the South Stafford Regt. on March 1st, 1915, and was gazetted full lieut. on July 29th, dated back to May 1st.
