On the outbreak of war Pte. Tyrrell and Pte. Turner were working in the coal mines of Wales and lived together. They enlisted together, did their training together in Reading and on Salisbury Plain, and in the battle of Sept. 25, 1915, both fell. Thus in death, as in life, they were not divided.
