AEROPLANE TURNS TURTLE.
Hundreds of people in Reading and district went to Southcote in August, 1915, t o see the biplane damaged in a descent.
Piloted by an Army officer, the machine alighted in a field of stubble and then ran into a hedge and fell in the road below .
The craft turned turtle and much of the framework was smashed, but the airman was not injured as the result of landing upside down. - C. E. May.

The mother received a letter of congratulation from the King.
