A GROUP OF READING MEN OF THE A.S.C. MOTOR TRANSPORT IN EGYPT.
Pte. J. COOMBS, M.T., formerly Oxford and Bucks L. I. , Cross Keys, Pangbourne. - Wounded near Ypres.
The late Mechanical Staff Sergt. WALTER HENRY FARRAR, M.T., 30, De Montfort Road, Reading. - Died in hospital. Aged 41.
The late Dvr . CHAS. H. GILKERSON 46, Brook Street, Reading. - Died from the effects of exposure on active service. Aged 42, he had seen 23 years' service.
The above photograph was taken at Corfu and represents men of the British Mission with the Serbian Army. Corpl. J. W. Stent , of Waldeck Street , Reading (late of the 273rd Co. A .S. C.), is included in the group - he is the third from the left, standing at the back. The group includes French and Serbian soldiers, the former sitting in front and the latter can be seen with their distinguishing headgear at the back.
The late Staff - Sergt . E. E. WOODS, 185, Oxford Road , Reading . - Died on active service. Aged 27.
