ENTERTAINING THE WOUNDED

POST OFFICE WORKERS AND SOLDIER GUESTS.
Fifty wounded soldiers were entertained at the Bridge Street Assembly Rooms, by the Ladies' Temporary Force, G.P.O., Sorting Office, and had a right royal time, being loud in their praises of the generous hospitality dispensed.

THE GAILY BEDECKED TEA-ROOM AT THE BOROUGH LAUNDRY.
A tea and entertainment, organised by the manageress and staff of the Borough of Reading Steam Laundry, Co., Ltd, was held at the works on April 21st, 1917. The guests consisted of sixty wounded soldiers from the royal Berks and Redlands Hospitals. Mr Dryland Haslam, jun., chairman of the Board of Directors, presided at the tea and spoke a few cheery words to the boys. During the evening an excellent concert was given. The rooms were decorated with flags and bunting, lent by Miss Tanner, Mr. A. H. Bull and Mr. Haslam.
