The Royal Navy.
The late ALBERT PARSONS, North Street, Theale. -- Drowned.
The late CHARLES PUGH, second class cook, of H.M. Minesweeper "Tervani," which was blown up on December 5th, Woodside Cottage, Twyford. -- Died of wounds.
Sub-Lieut. S. F. WOOD, Royal Naval Division, Muswell Hill, London (late of Reading). -- Wounded.
Some Reading and district boys serving on H.M.S. Malaya, which played a prominent part in the Battle of Jutland. Reading from left to right they are: - H. Haywood, A.B., R.F.R., Broadmoor; C. E. Jones, A. B., Wargrave; E. F. Hazell, Winchfield; H. Fullbrook, Leading Signalman, 42, Connaught Road, Reading ; H. Newman, A.B., Reading; C. Burbridge, A.B., Reading.
JACK TARS FROM JUTLAND. The sailors and Marines in this group were all in the Jutland battle and each of the soldiers has been wounded. They all belong to Newbury with the exception of the man sitting in the centre with a dog. He hails from Twyford and was on H.M.S. Galatia.
Reading Boys on H.M.S. Achilles, which was in Admiral Jellicoe's Fleet in the Battle of Jutland. This ship-name was introduced into the Navy in 1744 and is associated with the capture of the St. Florentine (1759) and the Battle of Trafalgar (1805).
