ROYAL BERKS REGIMENT.
Various Battalions.
[photo, portrait] The late L.-Corpl. HOWARD VINCENT CAMPBELL, 59, Queen's Road, Reading (late of Fox Hall, Didcot). - Killed in action in Italy.
[photo, portrait] Pte. A. DREWETT, 4th Batt., 47, Pangbourne Street, Reading. - Wounded.
[photo, portrait] The late Pte. H. G. WHITE, 5th Batt., 113, Belmont Road, Reading. - Died of wounds.
[photo, portrait] THE LATE CAPTAIN FRANCIS SYDNEY BRAIN. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Brain, Reading.
Born in 1893, he was educated at Reading School and Leighton Park School, and in 1912 he obtained a scholarship at Trinity Hall, Cambridge. At the outbreak of war he joined the Cambridge University O.T.C. and on February 26th, 1915, was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant, being promoted to Lieutenant on July 29th, 1918 [sic]. He proceeded to France in June, 1916, and was attached to the 2nd Batt. Dorset Regt., with which he served to the time of his death on October 3rd, 1918. During the early part of the war he was quartered at Reading on recruiting work.
[photo, portrait] Corpl. A. L. UNDERWOOD helped his Company to win the Deport Athletic Cup and Shield two months running.
[photo, portrait] The late Lieut. H. A. V. WAIT, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Wait, 45, Eastern Avenue, Reading. - Killed in action.
[photo, portrait] The late Corpl. CHARLES OSTRIDGE, 45, Orts Road, Reading. - Reorted missing, now killed in action.
[photo, portrait] Pte. LEONARD SHIPWAY, Field Road, Reading. - Severely wounded.
