ROYAL BERKS REGIMENT.
VARIOUS BATTALIONS.
[photo, portrait] Temporary Captain H. A. L. DONKIN, 7th Batt., son of Mr. Henry Donkin, of Abingdon. Awarded the Military Cross for distinguished services in connection with military operations in Salonika. Capt. Donkin is an old Roysse's Schoolboy. [From "Oxford Journal Illustrated".]
[photo, portrait] Pte. C. BROADWAY, 2nd Batt., Caronation Terrace [sic], Hurst. - Served in France 4½ years.
[photo, portrait] Pte. STANLEY RICHARD SHEARS, A Co., 5th Batt., Grims Cottage, Streatley. - Missing since March 30th, 1918.
[photo, portrait] The late Lieut. (temp. Captain) C. A. MALLAM, M.C., 5th Batt. - Awarded Bar to Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during an advance. Captain Mallam was a son of Mrs. Mallam, of Hall Place, Sparsholt, Wantage. - Died of wounds. [From "Oxford Journal Illustrated".]
[photo, portrait] The late Pte. R. G. LIDDIARD, 8th Batt., 62, George Street, Caversham. - Died of wounds.
[photo, group, exterior] A group of the 53rd T.M.B. near the Somme, taken just before the "Hundred Days' Battle", consisting largely of men from the 1/4th, 6th and 8th Battalions of the Royal Berks Regt. Among them are Pte. P. Kaye, of Bear Wood, Pte. Ponsford, of Ascot, Pte. Cheyney, of Maidenhead, and Pte. H. S. Harwood, of 48, Belmont Road, Reading.
[photo, portrait] Pte. A. E DAY, 5th Batt., of Theale. - Reported missing on Nov. 30th, 1918, later reported killed.
