A READING V.C.
Second Lieut. JOHN CROWE of the 3rd Batt. Worcestershire Regt. who has gained the V.C. is the son of Mr and Mrs Crowe of 28 Dorset Street, Reading. Lieut. Crowe has served 20 years in the Worcesters. Before the war he was a company Sergt-. Major.
George Crowe joined the Worcesters,
William Crowe Worcesters has been wounded four times,
Bert Crowe, Grenadier Guards was killed in action September 16th 1916.
Charlie Crowe the youngest son is a mechanic in the Naval Air Service.
THE MILITARY CROSS
Major A.H. CRABBE, London Irish Rifles, of Melford, Eastern Avenue, Reading. He has been twice mentioned in despatches. He has served in France, Macedonia and Palestine and was present at the capture of Jerusalem.
Captain ARNOLD J. WELLS, A.S.C., T.F .Upper Redlands Road, Reading. He has served in Gallipoli, Egypt and Palestine.
Lieut. W.D. HART, Royal Marine Artillery, 23 Cardigan Gardens, Reading. Before the war he was in the export department of Messrs. Huntley and Palmers, Ltd.
