Berkshire Yeomanry.
[photo, equestrian] MILITARY MEDAL. Trooper A. ("Gus") MAY, Berks Yeomanry, attached Worcester Yeomanry, Bridge Street, Reading, who has been right through the Palestine campaign, and who was awarded the M.M. for bravery in the field as a stretcher-bearer.
[photo, equestrian] The late Staff-Sergt.-Major LIDDLE, 1/1st Berks Yeomanry, of Clewer Hill Lodge, Windsor, described by his C.O. as one of the best warrant officers in the regiment", who served through the South African War, receiving the South African medal and ribbon, and was mentioned in despatches from the Dardanelles, awarded the Croix de Guerre, Mons Star,and Long Service Medal, and who was lost at sea on the "Aragon" on December 30th, 1917. His body was recovered and he was buried in the military cemetery, Alexandria.
