FANCY DRESS BALL AT CLIFF HOUSE.

[photo, group, exterior] Every effort was made to see that our wounded soldiers enjoyed, in the very best sense of the word, a Happy Christmas. No one could have had a jollier time than the men at Cliff House, Freemasons' War Hospital, The Warren, Caversham. A feature of the proceedings on Christmas Day was a fancy dress ball. There was also a monster Christmas tree, with a real Father Christmas. The patients showed much originality in the choice of their garbs, as the picture shows. Some of the nurses also donned festive attire, and with the attendance of a few friends the merriment was maintained until the early hours of the morning, the programme of fun ending with a dance.
